Services
Philippa designs placement prints, embellishments, repeats and branding for fashion for all ages, both male and female. With over seven years' experience in the fashion industry, Philippa has developed a flexible, strong handwriting style adaptable to any brief. Creative yet commercial, Philippa is equally at home interpreting edgy catwalk trends as developing quirky characters for childrenswear.
Technical
Equally comfortable on Mac or PC platforms, Philippa produces artworks in both Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience of working closely with both UK and offshore printhouses ensures files are technically viable for production. Elements of hand rendering, sketching and painting are often incorporated which gives artworks a unique edge.
Philippa has a pattern-cutting qualification and experience of working closely with technologists. This has developed an understanding of the way in which her designs interact with the garment.
Philippa is fully equipped to work from her studio but is also available for in-house assignments.
History
Philippa studied Graphic Design and Advertising specialising in Fashion at the Manchester Metropolitan University and graduated with BA(hons) in 2001.
After several stints of paid and unpaid internships at various London fashion magazines and design houses including Vogue and Asprey & Garrard, Philippa began working as a fashion graphic designer in-house for a clothing manufacturer supplying childrenswear to high street retailers.
In 2004, Philippa went on to work for another supplier, this time in addition to childrenswear, working on prestigious fashion accounts including ASOS.com, Warehouse and Oli. As well as graphic design, she was responsible for garment design, creating collections and client meetings.
In 2007 Philippa became self employed working with a broad cross-section of retail clients.
